Another bed
While Oreo claims that our newest piece of furniture is strictly for making him more comfortable, Chris and I are happy to say he is wrong. After putting our new full-sized guest bed together, we can now officially welcome our guests with the kind of hospitality they deserve. I'm already trying to figure out what sort of gorgeous headboard I can make for it.
Oh, and don't get me wrong. Our motives here are completely selfish: we want our family and friends to come visit us. :-P This is all just a part of our intricate plan to lure you all in. What's the next step of the plan, you ask? Personal chef? Hotel towels for you to tuck in your bags at the end of your stay? Or could it be that we are secretly training Oreo to give spa-quality massages? Or none of the above? lol I guess only our visitors will know. ;-)

Valentine's Day
For Valentine's Day this year, Chris and I decided to exercise our culinary muscles. He made me the most delicious jambalaya I've ever tasted (only took twice as long to make as the directions said, lol) and I made red velvet cupcakes. The taste buds were definitely happy. And of course, Chris being the sweet boyfriend that he is, bought me a dozen roses and a box of chocolates. It was definitely a happy Valentine's Day here. :-)

Tin can light
The tin can light is finally complete! Here it is strung around the window in the spare bedroom. I've been working on nailing the design into each can for months now.
For a different look, I wrapped the string of lights around a bent coat hanger to make them into a hanging pendant light. It looks really neat at night because the light shines through all the little nail holes as you walk around. It actually twinkles.
