Our Halloween Party

This year, Chris and I decided to go all out and throw a huge Halloween party for all our friends. It was a lot of work ... A LOT of work ... but it turned out great. In the end, there were a bunch of details I didn't have time for, and some things got a little rushed, but overall I'd say the party was a big success.

In the chaos of it all, I feel like I didn't get great pictures of all the details, but I'm happy to share what I have. We'll start with the red velvet cupcakes I made.
Here's an in progress shot of the dining room table before we put all the food out.
This was either poison or spiced cider with rum.
The mad scientist area, complete with a heart and a glowing brain.
Our host vampire as he's sinking his glowing fangs into a watermelon jello shot.
Severed finger sugar cookies I made, along with more cupcakes someone brought.
Poor little guy got sick...
We had lots of people show up in killer costumes for the party. Here we see Daenerys Targaryen, Hhal Jhaqo, and a dragon. Ripley didn't know what to make of this costume.
Matt and Kristen won best couple's costume as Bob and Linda from Bob's Burgers.
Aryn (the guy on the left) won funniest costume.
Although the giant baby Smurf deserves honorable mention.
I also set up a photo op area in hopes of getting pictures of everyone. It turned out pretty great!
The guy on the right one scariest costume. Can you guess why?
Later on in the night, people were dancing, the food kept disappearing and we were all having a lot of fun. That's when these pictures were captured.
It's hard to tell in the pictures with the flash, but the picture below has the truest to life feel for the lighting in the party. Lots of candlelight and twinkle lights everywhere. The kitchen had black lights, which you can sort of see through the doorway.

So that's the best pictures I could come up with. Wish you all could have been there to see it. It was a great time and I'm so happy for everyone who made it out and had a fun time with us. It was a great experience, and we probably won't be doing it again anytime soon. Did I mention it was a lot of work? lol
